A fashion and textile designer rooted in Indian craft heritage, pushing into bold contemporary territory.

Smilika Guduru is a fashion and textile designer whose practice bridges the richness of Indian craft heritage with rigorous contemporary design thinking. Her work spans garment construction, textile development, mixed-media surface work, illustration, and wearable art.
Her graduate collection at FDDI was presented as a live performance installation on the runway — a reflection of her belief that clothing is not merely worn, but experienced. She is currently furthering her practice with a Master of Arts in Textile Design at the University for Creative Arts, United Kingdom.
Her work is rooted in the textures, colours, and stories of Indian textile traditions — Kalamkari, hand-weaving, surface embellishment — reinterpreted through a distinctly contemporary lens.
